Supermarket shut down for selling expired goods

The Muldersdrift Police are urging community members to check the expiry dates before they purchase products.

The Muldersdrift Police along with Mogale City Local Municipality officials and Environmental Health practitioners visited one of the supermarkets in Rietfontein, Muldersdrift, on 3 October, to check for expired goods.

During this operation it was discovered that most of the products on the shelves have expired. The owner of the supermarket was instructed to close the supermarket until the matter could be resolved by the Environmental Health Department.

The community is being urged to check the expiry dates before they buy products.

According to Constable Slindile Ntuli, spokesperson for the Muldersdrift Police, they are urging community members to check the expiry dates before they purchase products.
