Tarlton Police and CPF’s joint operation a huge success
A joint operation by the Tarlton Police and Cluster CPF yielded great success when they made 15 arrests in one day.
The Tarlton Police and the Cluster Community Policing Forum pulled together and conducted a rural safety operation in the area yesterday, 25 October.
“This is one of many operations that are conducting throughout the cluster, focusing mainly on rural areas within the West Rand,” said Constable Lucky Matome, spokesperson for the Tarlton Police.

He added that this operation is a clear indication that working together, they can do more and crime can be eradicated.

The operation consisted of roadblocks and stop-and-searches. Illegal shebeens, illegal immigrants and drugs were some of the issues addressed during the operation.
And it paid off … 13 undocumented foreign nationals were arrested.

A 42-year-old man was also caught with a drug called Mira. Mira is a plant used in the manufacturing of other drugs like Cat. He was caught with 9,655kg of the drug which has an estimated street value of R1 000, and charged under the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act 140 of 1992.
Another suspect was arrested for possession of counterfeit goods with a street value of an estimated R2 300.

“Both these suspects will appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court and the 13 undocumented foreign nationals will be verified by the Immigration Office to ascertain their legality in the country,” added Matome.
