Everything you need to know about testing and vaccinating this week

The West Rand District Health Department will continue their pop-up health-screening sites throughout Mogale City this week and all those over 18 are invited to get their jab.

These pop-up sites provide many services including free Covid-19, TB, HIV and diabetes screening and testing, and will be throughout Mogale City.

• On Tuesday, August 24 they will be at Rant en Dal Spar and Chancliff (Wards 21 & 24) as well as the Tower of Life Shelter (Ward 20)

• On Wednesday, August 25 they will be at Mathombo informal settlement near Cradlestone Mall (Ward 23)

• On Thursday, August 26 they will be in Dan Pienaarville (Ward 24 and 28)

• On Friday, August 27 they will be in Azaadville next to the Mosque (Ward 34) and the vaccination pop-up site will be open between 14:00 and 18:00

• On Saturday, August 28 they will be in Azaadville next to the Mosque (Ward 34) and the vaccination pop-up site will be open between 14:00 and 18:00; as well as at the Munsieville Care for the Aged between 09:00 and 13:00; the Kagiso Care for the Aged between 09:00 and 13:00; and the Nelson Mandela Hall in Tarlton between 09:00 and 13:00.

West Rand District Health communications officer, Nomagugu Hloma said that their vaccination teams will be visiting Azaadville on August 27 and 28, as well as September 3 and 4. They will be at the Azaadville Civic Centre at 551 Taj Mahal Street between 14:00 and 18:00, and will help residents to register and receive their vaccinations on the spot.

Vaccinations are now available for anyone above the age of 18, and one can even be vaccinated over the weekend. The following vaccination sites will be open on Saturdays between 08:00 and 13:00.
