A woman in her 50s was arrested for selling dagga, while illegal miners fled from the police.

A woman in her late 50s was arrested for dealing in dagga in Tshepisong.

Captain Solomon Sibiya, spokesperson for the Kagiso Police said the arrest was made on August 19 during an operation in Kagiso led by the Kagiso Police station commander, Brigadier Maduna and operational commander, Lieutenant Colonel Lebambo.

Police members visited illegal mining sites in Rietvallei where they confiscated two generators that were abandoned by illegal miners who fled to avoid being arrested.

“There’ll be no space for criminality during our presence. Anyone who commits crime will feel the might of the law. We will be on your doorstep to pick you up,” warned Maduna.
