Three men are set to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court today, August 27 on charges of robbery with a weapon or instrument other than a firearm.
Captain Raymond Sebonyane, Krugersdorp Police’s communications officer explained that the incident in question occurred on Wednesday, August 25 at about 11:00 on Figulus Street, Krugersdorp West.
On the said date and time, the victim was walking along the street when he was accosted by three strangers who threatened him with a knife and robbed him of R20. Three other men saw what was happening and went to the victim’s rescue by chasing and apprehending the robbers. They were taken to the Krugersdorp Police Station where a case docket of robbery was opened and all three suspects were detained, Sebonyane explained.
Colonel Christelle Booysen, Krugersdorp Police acting station commander applauded the members of the public for a their efforts in stopping the crime and putting their lives at risk to assist one of their own.
