Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital honours its SHE reps

They honoured these representatives for their dedication and commitment during a red-carpet awards ceremony.

The Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital recently honoured the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) representatives of their institution during a red-carpet awards ceremony.

The hospital’s communications officer, Puseletso Madibikame said in a statement that they honoured these representatives for their dedication and commitment.

“The aim of this event is to remember you as individuals, single you out from the masses, and make you feel special due to the selflessness and humility you displayed over the years as SHE reps,” the hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, Nono Modau said as the attendees were welcomed.

Being more than 100 years old, Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital’s infrastructure is at high risk of causing any incident. The SHE reps play a major role in ensuring staff safety by meeting regularly and attending to relevant issues.

“They also do inspections and advise management based on their experience to avoid any major incident,” Puseletso said.

Acting nurse manager, Dipuo Ntshingila told the attendees that they appreciated their good work and asked them to keep it up. She assured them that they had management’s support.

The event was also attended by the Chief Occupational Hygienist, Tinyiko Masuluke and Keabetswe Kgame, Occupational Hygiene Practitioner from Central Office who had the opportunity to give out certificates.

At the end of the programme there was moment of silence as the team commemorated one of the reps who unfortunately passed away before receiving a certificate.

“By so doing we remember that Mr Mdenka had passion for occupational health and safety, and he had a dream to apply for admission at one of the universities next year. May his soul rest in peace,” said Modau.
