One CPF hand washes the other

'The donations will help them a lot during their work around the community' — Sector 2 CPF chairperson.

Members of the Community Policing Forum are selfless volunteers who sacrifice their own time and safety to keep their neighbourhoods safe.

Imagine if you have to do this in the middle of winter without the right equipment such as a warm jacket … Fortunately the Sector 2 CPF in Munsieville recently received much-needed jackets and flash lights.

Wilma Nel from the Sector 3 CPF explained that at a recent cluster meeting it was decided that some of the other sectors would try and help the Munsieville CPF as these selfless volunteers did not have any warm jackets to wear when they patrol their neighbourhood at night.

Consequently the Sector 5 CPF recently donated 35 jackets to the Munsieville CPF, and Sector 3 CPF sponsored the embroidery on the jackets.

Justice Setshedile, the chairperson of Sector 2 CPF said the donations would help them a lot during their work around the community.

This was a winter blessing to us,” he said and added that they still needed donations to help them keep their community safe.

They urgently need radios because at the moment they are using their own money for airtime to keep in contact with each other.
