Beware of Mr Khan, an impostor claiming to be a municipal official
The municipality has warned the public against a scammer identified as Feroz Khan.
Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) warns residents to be on high alert as a scammer is impersonating himself as an MCLM official.
According to MCLM’s communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, Mr Feroz Khan claims to be an MCLM official and goes around to residences conducting scheduled disconnection of properties.
“Khan is advising residents of a scheduled disconnection due to an account that is in arrears,” Mahlangu said.
“Residents are advised that this is not a communique from the municipality but a scam. Residents are therefore further advised that in the event any persons request to access their property, they should refuse and report it to police,” Mahlangu concluded.
