Municipality launches free basic services registration in wards 37 and 18

Qualifying households will need to submit mandatory documentation, including proof of income and municipal statements, to access municipal support.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) will open registration for its indigent management programme to assist qualifying households with free basic services.

The campaign will be held for wards 37 and 18 at the Khosa Sports Club from September 9 to 11, from 09:00 to 14:00.

According to MCLM assistant manager for Media and PR Refilwe Mahlangu, applicants must provide the following mandatory documents:

• certified copies of their IDs
• proof of income and their latest three months’ bank statements
• current municipal statements

She added that the following supporting documents are required for applicants who are not the owners of the property:

• a letter of authority or executorship
• marriage certificate
• divorce decree
• death certificate

She concluded that additional documents might be asked for when registering.
