This partnership between Radio 702, Gauteng Tourism and Mogale City tagging along will offer locals a unique opportunity to explore where it all started in Gauteng – the Cradle of Humankind, its Maropeng Visitor Centre which is the actual event venue, and over 400 diverse tourism experiences for visitors from all walks of life to immerse themselves in. From human origins, wildlife wonders, spending the night, culture and crafts, stunning landscapes and so much more – Gauteng’s only World Heritage Site undoubtedly offers a whole lot of living where life began.
Walkers can opt for the 3km walk for persons with disabilities, and guardians with their children under the age of twelve, at an entry fee of R180. Alternatively, you can walk at your own pace in the 5km and 8km distances, at an entry fee of R350. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed in this world heritage site habitat.
All entries secure participants a personalised number, a t-shirt, and a medal.
The municipality would like to encourage everyone, especially corporates, to participate and build team comradery by walking together.
