Church plays golf for a big cause

The NG Krugersdorp-Oos Gemeente Golf Day was a great success for supporters and were there more than 100 people in attendance.

Members of the NG Krugersdorp-Oos Gemeente were golfing around for a good cause at the Krugersdorp Golf Club on September 15. The day was filled with fun activities on what was a warm and sunny Friday afternoon.

A total of 107 golfers supported the event in a competition format known as Two Ball Betterball. There were also prizes to be won and all funds collected by the congregation will be utilised to make a difference in the community.

According to organiser Martie Dreyer, the church is always working hard to make the community a better place and they often engage with various NGOs such as Moria and Luipaardsvlei Homes and House Nehemiah.

Jannie Engelbrecht enjoys the day thoroughly.

The initiatives the church has taken part in include:

• A sandwich project at schools
• Soup projects
• Donation of food parcels for families
• Support of missionaries

Kirstin Collins, Eleanor Smit and Theo van Niekerk enjoy the golf day.

“We also invite schools every year in our community to participate in our golf day and we offer a competition for the schools within the regular golf day competition which we call The Great Challenge Cup for Schools. Kenmare won this year and in 2022 Hoërskool Monument lifted the trophy. Other schools around Krugersdorp have also taken part.

It’s all in the hips for Adrian Coetzee’s swing.

“The day brought great joy and was a success,” Martie said.
