I would like to reply to Ronel Nielsen’s remarks about her cellphone tower radiation concerns in the article Resident warns of harmful radiation from new tower, which featured in the 28 November edition of the news.

She stated she is “not an expert in the field”; this fact is glaringly obvious.

Ms Nielsen clearly is ignorant of basic science, but could make a living as a professional rabble rouser.

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest cellphone tower radiation could contaminate food, and only circumstantial and apocryphal evidence that cellphone tower radiation is harmful to humans.

Such hysteria is irrational and unfounded, but I suppose it is too much to hope that people today might do some real research into a topic before protesting, rather than gleaning information from day-time television and sharing half-baked opinions.

At Caxton, every story is written by humans. We use AI only to perform quality checks - never to generate the news. Happy reading!
