I was paying my bill even during lockdown but to my amazement I’ve been receiving emails since end of March, saying I owe R50 000, April R60 000 then May and June R71 000. Who was taking the readings then? Mabena must tell me. How do my husband and I, and our three-year-old twins consume so much electricity?
My husband has been going back and forth trying to get answers. In the first week of July they said our meter was faulty, and came and replaced it. He went back last week because we received another email saying they took out R17 000.
Now we owe R64 000. How did they get such a high amount from a faulty meter? People who live in estates don’t even pay that much. No office has been able to help us.
We don’t know where to cry for help. Mogale City must not use us to pay for their corruption.
