I was in the unfortunate situation whereby my mother, a pensioner, had a very serious accident on Robert Broom Drive on Tuesday, 3 November.
It was chaos with traffic backed up, tow truck drivers all over and debris lying all over the scene.
When I arrived, I found my mom in serious pain with a broken femur, two serious fractures.
With all these things happening and me trying to cope, the Krugersdorp Traffic Department arrived.
As you know the traffic guys do not have a good reputation/ name with the public so I thought this is going to be another bad experience.
To my surprise an officer by the name of Robert, an assistant superintendent, came and spoke to me to get all the details and particulars.
He was the most friendly, humble person I saw in a long time. He had sympathy and was understanding.
They sorted out all the issues with no fuss. He even gave me his details should I need anything else in connection with the accident.
I write this to inform others that sometimes we do get exceptions, and we should not always label people.
Once again, thanks Krugersdorp Traffic Department for the excellent service, we need more Roberts!
