Posthumus Street: Does anyone know anything about its history?

All information about the street or the Posthumus heritage in Krugersdorp more in general would be very helpful to my research.

I am the southern Africa correspondent for Dutch newspapers Het Financieele Dagblad and Trouw.

I have been based in Johannesburg since 2012. I am currently doing research for a newspaper story on the Posthumus heritage (my own last name) in South Africa.

During my research I have noticed that there is a street called Posthumus Street in Lewisham, Krugerdorp.

I would like to find out whether there is someone who knows what the origins of this Posthumus Street in Lewisham are.

Who is the street named after, and why?

In addition, all information about the street or the Posthumus heritage in Krugersdorp more in general would be very helpful to my research. If you have any information, please contact me.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I’d really appreciate it.
