Miracles!

Waking up is a miracle, celebrate it today.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

Do you believe in miracles? Have you ever experienced a miracle?

This morning I was confronted with a host of amazing miracles. I woke up. That was the first miracle. Just waking up in the morning is a miracle. I opened my eyes and saw the early light of the new day penetrating our curtains.

Seeing is a miracle we take for granted. Wait, what’s that? I heard the happy sounds of the early birds catching the worm as it is said. Music to my ears. It is a miracle, I said to myself.

I got up. That was also such a special miracle. I boiled water and made my first cup of coffee. That aroma comforted me. It is also a miracle. A piece of crispy toast with butter and jam. I am so blessed, I thought. Miracles are not supernatural things left to the confines of places of worship. Miracles are the things that make our day special. Gifts from God to say, “I love you”.

Without exception, we have all experienced miracles.

Sadly, we miss them in our rush of the day and we forget to say thank you for our daily miracle. Next time you feel that life is so difficult, stop for a moment and count your many blessings.

Waking up is a miracle, celebrate it today.
