GALLERY: Miami Magoebaskloof MTB Challenge a great day out

Pre-registration started on Friday and already the excitement was palpable when the Herald’s journalist dropped in to take some pictures.

The day of the event was attended by, what at times seemed to be, most of the residents of Tzaneen.

The race consisted of four sections, a 70km race, a 40km race, a 15km race and a 5km race.

With food stalls, a beer garden and kids entertainment, all age groups had a wonderful time.

The results for the day were as follows:

70km Ladies: 1 Shirley Shriven, 2 Dorothy Rood and 3 Britt Dando.

70km Men: 1 Alan Gordon, 2 Kombo Bere, 3 Mario Ferreira, 4 Charlie Swart and 5 Jan-Louis Pretorius.

40km Ladies: 1 Ashley van Schalkwyk, 2 Soretha Lubbe, 3 Christelle Coetzer, 5 Anna Elsia Gutierrez and Ally Lougher-Clarke.

40km Men: 1 Richard Lambert, 2 Robert Retief, 3 Carel Smit, 4 Marno van Zyl and 5 Matt Wilkenson.

15km Ladies: 1 Mareli Nel, 2 Lianke Fourie, 3 Linda Fourie, 4 Jane Allison and 5 Anna Elmarie Gutierrez.

15km Men: 1 Janco Coetzee, 2 Brendon Janse van Vuuren, 3 Herman Fourie, 4 Jarred Watridge and Tyrone Anders.
