‘Save the date’ for Tzaneen Rally excitement

Motorsport lovers will be happy to know that a new date for the NTT Motor Group Tzaneen Rally WNRC Round 4, has been set for August 20-21.

Race organisers have confirmed that 32 crews will be taking part in the next phase of the 2021 WOMZA National Rally Championships.

The event was initially scheduled to take place on July 30-31, but due to the extended lockdown period, it had to be moved to another date. Tzaneen’s Peter Pilusa who was crowned the 2018 overall Group D National Rally Champion, will also be competing in Round 4.

He told the Herald that he is ready and excited to be racing at home and he hopes that the home ground advantage will work in his favour.

Peter Pilusa, driver, and Brandon Ferns, navigator.

This year he only participated in two races.

In April he attained second position with his wife, Mavis Pilusa as his first time navigator and in June he took the third position with navigator, Kabelo Sekgobela in Nelspruit.

In the third round, his car had two broken shocks which casted a shadow on his game plan and he had to settle for position three.

“To me, it is no longer about winning, but it is about pure enjoyment.

Meanwhile, Louis Menge, who was crowned World of Motorsport South Africa’s Best Navigator in the country for the 2019-2020 season, has confirmed that he will be navigating for Eddie Simpson.
