‘FLINK dink en vinniger praat,’ these were the skills on display when Unicorn held its annual Hein Kruger Afrikaans speech competition.
Through the course of the year the best Afrikaans orators are picked from the grade 7 group to be finalists on the night. This year’s finalists were: Nina Rasekhi Casan, Jarred Schoeman, Lara Dando, Rirhandzu Vermeulen, Raymond Bonniwell and Simran Brahmbhatt.
The judges were impressed by the standard of the speeches delivered, in particular the unprepared speeches, but at the end of the evening only one winner could be announced. This year, Lara Dando was crowned the winner of the Hein Kruger speech competition. Unicorn congratulates this young orator.
