Police in Tzaneen have arrested 80 people for various criminal activities over the past week.

Tzaneen: Police in Tzaneen have arrested 80 people for various criminal activities over the past week.

According to the Tzaneen police spokesperson, Constable Glenda Maimele, three people were arrested for common assault, three for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, one for crimen injuria and one person was arrested for intimidation.

Four people were arrested for shoplifting, one for failure to appear in court, one for failure to pay maintenance and two people were arrested for violation of a protection order.

One person was arrested for possession of dagga, four for housebreaking and theft, one for robbery and one person was arrested for theft.

Five people were arrested for illegal gambling, 17 for prostitution, and four people were arrested for counterfeit goods.

Two people were arrested for drunken driving, seven for public drinking, three for reckless and negligent driving and 19 people were arrested for contravening the Road Traffic Act.

Modjadjiskloof: Police in Modjadjiskloof have arrested 60 suspects for various offences over the past week.

Modjadjiskloof police spokesperson, warrant officer Kgamedi Seshoka said 19 suspects were arrested for contravening with the Road Traffic Act, 12 for contravening the Liquor Act, 11 for illegal gambling and eight for possession of dagga.

One suspect was arrested for dealing with dagga, two for assault with intent to cause grievously bodily harm, one for murder, one for prostitution and one for sexual assault.

Two suspects were arrested for house breaking and theft, one for fraud and one for common assault.
