THE police, assisted by sniffer dogs searched and seized dagga, knives, pornographic material and cellphones at three high schools in Bolobedu last Thursday.
Schools raided include Matome Modika, Mookgo and Mamoding high schools in Bolobedu. According to Bolobedu police spokesperson, Constable Rebotile Shai, the cellphones seized from leaners would be returned to them on the last day of school year whilst other items will be destroyed.
“Learners bring cell phones to school despite being prohibited by the school management,” said Shai.
Shai said the operation follows the launching of school linkage programme by the police last month.
As part of the programme, Captain David Seunane addressed the learners about the danger of using drugs.
