THE De Beers English Olympiad is an annual national competition, open to all Grade 10-12 learners.
The exam requires students to write an essay, usually comparing two or more stories contained in their text books, as well as a language section.
Seven Plasies entered this prestigious competition, and all received certificates, proving once more that their English is of a very high standard. Grade 12’s that competed were: Deepa Kesa (bronze), Brodin Barnes (bronze), Brandon Zhanda (merit). The following grade 11’s also took part: Precious Malatji (bronze), Carmen Reid (silver) Loame van Zyl (bronze), Monique de Lange (bronze)
