Zanis gymnasts received full honours at the Rhythmic Novice competition
Fifty one rhythmic gymnasts from Zanis Gymnastics Academy competed on May 8 and 9 at the SAGF Rhythmic Novice Competition at Matsport Centre, Centurion. 26 clubs from all over the North of South Africa, with a total of 367 gymnasts, competed for the Best Club Award.
Zanis Gymnastics once again received full honours, by claiming the most Team Trophies and the most Top Gymnasts of all clubs present.
Every one spoke about the gymnasts who were stealing the “lime” light during the competition, with their excellent gymnastics and appearance with their beautiful lime leotards.
Every gymnast received a medal according to her total marks of which gold was the highest. Zanis claimed 35 gold and 16 silver medals, no bronze!
The Top gymnasts in each age group was announced during the prize giving and Zanis claimed 9 top gymnasts awards.
Level 1 u7 Lepsy Chuene (Polokwane), Lev 1 u8 Kristi de Jager (Tzaneen), Lev 1 u9 Rebotile Letshedi (Polokwane), Lev 1 u10 Malebo Kwena (Polokwane).
Level 2 u8 Klara Pretorius (Tzaneen), Lev 2 u9 Clarissa Combrink (Tzaneen), Lev 2 over 11 Sarah Diederichs (Polokwane).
Level 3 u8 Melchizedek Maponya (Polokwane), Level 3 u9 Rotondwa Maudu (Polokwane).
Zanis Gymnastics won the Team Trophies for the following age groups:
Level 1 u7, Level 1 u9 (first and second!), Level 1 u11.
Level 2 u9, Level 2 over 11.
Level 3 u9 (first and second).
In two cases even Zanis B Team beat all the other club’s A Teams.
Level 1: Kiara van Breda (Gold), Diné Booyse (Silver), Lianell Thompson (Silver), Dorothy de Lange (Silver), Kristi de Jager (Gold & teddy bear for highest score in her age group), Elné Haynes (Gold), Jana Prinsloo (Gold)
Level 2: Klara Pretorius (Gold), Clarissa Combrink (Gold), Both Gymnasts won the teddy bear for highest score in Level 2 for their age groups.
Level 3: Brigette Combrink (Gold), Lané Kruger (Silver), Elziné Kotzé (Silver), Shané Bronkhorst (Silver)
