Man killed by buffalo in Gravelotte

A buffalo attacked and killed a man in Gravelotte Sunday morning.

The incident in Gravelotte took place on Sunday at approximately 11:00.

Elvis Rampya, who was 49 years old, was gored to death by a Buffalo Bull on the farm Kapiri Ranch 760.

Elvis inadvertently opened the wrong gate and let the Buffalo in while he was busy putting the feed out for the animals.

The Bull commonly known as Wide, saw Elvis and charged him, it was all over in a few seconds.

Elvis`s fellow workers tried to save him, but to no avail.

Eddie Greyling, the Farm Manager had to shoot Wide the Buffalo in order to retrieve Elvis`s body.

Elvis was the foreman on the farm and knew the feeding procedure very well, he treated the farm as if it was his own and loved the animals.

Elvis will be sorely missed by his fellow workers and employers and is survived by his wife and four children.
