Update: Gruesome details surround Stanford Lake murder

The naked body of a young black male, police say possibly aged between 10 – 12 years old, was found floating last Tuesday afternoon in Stanford Lake, next to the R71 road, Magoebaskloof.

The gruesome discovery was made by James Halkon, who had gone to the lake to fish.

According to a source the body that was found is a young black boy ruled to be between 10 – 12 years of age.

The autopsy revealed that the body of the boy had a golf ball lodged in his throat.

The golf ball was apparently wrapped in some form of tissue paper, in order to ensure that it remained lodged inside the young boy’s throat.

The cause of death was attributed to asphyxiation (suffocation) and has been ruled a murder.

Another gruesome finding was that the boy, it appeared, had also been beaten and tortured, as there were several cuts on the face and indications of bruising on the face and around his mouth.

The body is still (as yet) unidentified.
