R100 buck killer cop to appear in court
A police sergeant who allegedly shot dead a man who owed him R100 at Maake Plaza last Saturday will appear at the Naphuno Magistrate Court on Monday for bail application.
Leanard Mathonsi who is connected to the Germiston organised crime unit is expected to make a bail application on Monday.
According to Maake police spokesperson, Constable Rufus Magoro, the suspect was involved in a heated argument with Lukie Shipalna (the deceased).
Things got out of control and the deceased was shot, his brother was also shot in the leg when he tried to intervene.
Although it is alleged that Mathonsi shot the deceased over a R100 owed to him, Magoro said he could not confirm the allegations but he can confirm that there was a shooting at Maake Plaza which resulted in a death of a 32-year old man.
