The suspects linked to various offences ranging from business robbery, armed robbery, house breaking and theft to possession of dagga and dealing in dagga were arrested in Bolobedu, Ritavi, Maake and Tzaneen by members of Cluster Crime Intelligence working with the trio police task team commonly known as the Tekkie Squad.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said in Bolobedu, 10 members of a crime syndicate which was terrorising communities in Bolobedu and Modjadjiskloof since last year were arrested.
The suspects aged between 22 and 46 years old were arrested at
Ga-Kgapane Township.
During the arrests, a suspected stolen car, a set of balaclavas and a grinding machine were recovered while two big boxes of dagga, with an estimated street value of R260 000 were confiscated.
At Pulaneng village in Maake, four suspects aged between 23 and 48 years old were arrested and 11 bags of dagga with an estimated street value of R65 000 confiscated.
A 40 year-old woman whose house was used as a storage point for dagga was arrested as part of the group.
In Tzaneen, five wanted suspects aged between 15 and 33 years old, who have been evading the law for months were arrested for assault with intend to commit grievious bodily harm.
In Ritavi , a 30 years old man was arrested at Dan village for dealing in dagga.
During the arrest, three and half bags full of dagga with an estimated street value of R50 000 were confiscated.
All the arrested suspects were due to appear in the Bolobedu, Ritavi, Tzaneen and Naphuno Magistrate Courts respectively at the time of going to press.
