Six suspects arrested through tip-offs

Six suspects were arrested through tip-offs from the community last week.

The suspects are aged between 19 and 34, with various crimes ranging from possession of firearms and ammunition without license’s and selling liquor without a license. 

A 31 year old man was arrested for in possession of an AK 47 automatic rifle, ammunition and  a magazine without a license.

Two suspects aged between 31 and 34 were arrested for possession of dagga, a 25 year old was arrested for attempted murder and the other two aged 19 and 30 were arrested for assault and non-compliance on the liquor act.
Suspects are expected to appear before the Nkowankowa and Lenyenye Magistrate courts.
‘The Tekkie-Squad is not going to stop until our streets are clean. Members of the community are still advised and encouraged and advised to come forward with more information about any criminal activities in and around their areas,” said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
Members of the Maake and Letsitele community are urged to report to the Tzaneen Police station if they know the whereabouts of wanted suspects, illegal firearms, drugs and stolen items.
