Tzaneen: Suspects attempted to rob ATM at Oasis Mall

Six suspects attempted to rob an ATM at the Oasis mall in Tzaneen early Sunday morning.

The suspects, armed with a handgun, tied the security guard up and damaged the cameras.

They managed to break the Nedbank ATM and gained access to the ATM room.

The suspects failed to get access to the safe and left empty handed.

Northern Security received a phone in alarm from an offsite firm and went to investigate.

Marius Jacobs was the first to arrive on the scene and called for backup.

There is a lot of damage to the ATM and cameras.

According to Jacobs, the suspects fled in a bakkie that was parked close to a robot at the Lifestyle Centre.

The security guard was not harmed and police investigations are still ongoing.
