TZANEEN: Suspected burglar caught by community

Community members caught a suspected burglar last Wednesday close to Minitzani at the bridge in Adshade Street.

The victim that wants to stay anonymous said that he came from town when he noticed someone following him.

The burglar started chasing the man when he saw no cars or people.

The victim ran away to get help, when they returned the suspect was gone.

After a while women selling things under the bridge saw the suspect coming back and called for help.

That is when the community apprehended the suspect.

Pieter Thompson and Rudolph Beetge of Northern Security passed the commotion and called for back up.

The suspect was cuffed and at approximately 11:27 the police was called.

The police only arrived at approximately 12:51, more than an hour after the incident took place.

When Marius Jacobs, also from Northern Security, phoned the police to find out why they are taking so long, they told him that they only have one vehicle available and the vehicle was in use.

Security companies are not allowed to accompany suspects in their own vehicles.

It is not clear what happened to the suspect, Letaba Herald is still waiting for comment from the police.
