Learners back at home due to school’s electricity problems
The Learners of Letaba Special School have been taken home by their parents on Friday due to the lack of electricity in some hostels.
The school’s challenges began when the electricity cables of some of the hostels were stolen before the Good Friday holidays.
“Our learners are currently bathing with cold water and we are scared that they may get sick as a result,” said one of the school employees.
“As the Department of Education, we are our aware of the electricity issue and we have contacted Eskom to fix the problem and it will be taken care of,” said Naledzani Rasila, Spokesperson for the Department of Education in Limpopo.
