PHALABORWA: Steve crowned as SA’s ‘Librarian of the Nation’

The 2017 National librarian award of the year was awarded to Steve Mokhabukhi of the Phalaborwa Library by the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA).

The event took place at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Gauteng, last night October 5.

In celebration of the 18th LIASA Conference, a determined and hard working librarian such as Phalaborwa’s very own Steve Mokhabukhi was recognised by the nation for always playing his role in the library.

Mohkabukhi has been persistently working as a librarian since 1996.

Last month, he was awarded the ‘Limpopo Librarian Award of the year’, and last night he was crowned the ‘Librarian of the Nation’.
