PHALABORWA: Angry residents block road to town

Community members are angered by political positions, service delivery and the rapid increase of car accidents.

The Lulekani main road leading to town was blocked earlier this morning by angry residents.

Motorists used alternative routes to reach their destinations as a result of the unrest.

It is still unclear what brought about the strike, however, it is said by sources that community members are angered by political positions, service delivery and the rapid increase of car accidents that occur along the Shinghamulani road.

The police have been monitoring the road since morning, but, the state of agitation displayed by the community members is alarming, hence motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid being troubled and for safety reasons.

According to information he strike is over and the road has been cleared.
