The auspicious occasion was hosted at Relelal Primary School, headed by Forum for Empowerment for Now and Beyond, in partnership with various stakeholders including; Kagisano Entrepreneurship and Social Development Foundation, Tshwane University of Technology(TUT), Motsepe Foundation, Department of Social Development and the South African Police Service (SAPS).
This was in line with International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated annually on October 11.
Refilwe Titelo was the flamboyant master of ceremonies, who ensured active participation by engaging with the pupils in between speakers.
All speakers present, revolved around the significance of the girl child in society.

Students from the TUT delivered motivational talks to inspire the pupils to aspire better education.
A representative from the Department of Social Development explained the role the Department plays in society, and the services they offer to young girls specifically.

The Motsepe Foundation encouraged learners to apply for their education bursary in time, if they wish to be considered for funding, further adding that rural girls stand a better chance since the foundation focuses on learners from disadvantaged backgrounds in rural areas.

Captain Mogoboya from SAPS gave a talk on the negative repercussions of being involved in criminal activities, giving a stern warning to the girls to stay away from crime.
Excitement and gratitude was written all over the girls faces when the sanitary pads were handed over.
