TZANEEN: Two killed, four injured in R36 collision

Two people were killed and four others sustained serious injuries when their vehicle collided with a tree on the R36 outside Tzaneen this morning.

‘At approximately 07.30, paramedics from ER24 and local services arrived on the scene where they found four people that were ejected from the vehicle. Two of the ejected occupants sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead. Four others were treated for various serious injuries and later rushed to a nearby hospital,’ ER24 said in a statement.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.

However, it is understood that the vehicle collided with a tree in the centre median.

Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.

Drivers on the Magoebaskloof road are urged to be careful as the road is very wet and slippery.
