ACORNHOEK: Justice-bodies must be exhumed

A calling on the South African Police Services to exhume eight bodies of victims who they believe have not received justice.

The Bushbuckridge Resident Association (BRA) submitted a memorandum to the Acornhoek police on October 30, calling on the South African Police Services to exhume eight bodies of victims who they believe have not received justice.

“BRA forms a part of the South African political parties and is and protected by constitution, we will not sit back and watch crime escalating within the jurisdiction of Delta Mokoena. Acornhoek Police Station is like Cancer”, stated BRA President

The handing over of the memorandum was to follow up previous grievances which were presented to the Acornhoek Police station in the past year.

Members of BRA believe that the cases which they have grievances about lead straight to the suspects at first sight and believe that the police officers lack investigative skills.

“We would like the Police to look into the following cases as we believe the suspects are known,  1.Fraud case against Gleopad Maunye, who stole an amount of a hundred thousand and no action has been taken against him because he is ‘a member of African National Congress (ANC)’, 2. Willie Mokoena who was murdered last year and the suspect is a Traffic official we know, we also want justice for the third victim, Bomby Malope who was murdered last year by a security officer (The diseased was mentally challenged) ,4.  Alfred Ndlovu, who was found murdered in the back yard of the police station, 5.  The inquest case of Mrs Thibela who was found dead in her homestead on September 22 is yet to be solved,” Mokoena added.

The members of BRA further outlined that foreign business owners in the Acornhoek area are being killed and no arrests have been made to date.

“We recommend that police station commander in confection or sister department to re-visit these cases by exhuming more evidence.  The SAPS’s role is to serve and protect and lastly to dig data and prima facie evidence shall prevail,’ concluded Mokoena.
