“The missing child Ntlaleng Kgola, 2, from Emelman village was found dead at a distance away from the missing spot Monday afternoon. There is no foul play suspected at this stage. An inquest case was opened,” said spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

The parents were walking home through bushes near Giyani with the toddler and her four-year-old sister on Sunday when they stopped and then fell asleep under a tree

When they woke up at about 7pm, they found that Ntlaleng was missing and reported the matter to the police, who immediately launched a search operation.

Ntlaleng was found dead on Monday afternoon a distance away from the spot where she was last seen.
