Phalaborwa: Brothers ‘arrested’ for allegedly beheading sister

The head of the corpse was found on a nearby farm close to Phalaborwa this morning.

Two brothers thought to be linked to the brutal murder and beheading of their sister in Lulekani outside Phalaborwa, were taken in for questioning on Sunday, February 25, according to the police.

The corpse was discovered by the deceased woman’s child on Sunday, when a family member sent the child to collect something from the mother’s room.

It is understood that the deceased was identified as Irene Mopai (34).

‘The suspect(s) in this matter is still unknown and there is no arrests,’ Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
