WATCH: No licensing service in Tzaneen today as cashier is ‘sick’

"I don't know if the problem will be solved today or even tomorrow..."

Angry residents who waited since 06:00 this morning to either renew, collect or book for learner licences were told this morning that they would not be able to get assisted.

According to information received, this is due to the fact that the cashier is ‘sick’.

An official at the licensing office can be heard in a video that was supplied to the Letaba Herald saying that he cannot get hold of his manager nor the director.

He also stated that he does not know if the problem will be resolved by tomorrow.

A resident who needed to renew her licence told the Herald that her biggest concern at the moment is that she must leave for Bela-Bela and that she is now going to be on the road without a licence.

“What if I am in an accident, how am I going to prove that I wanted to renew my licence but to no avail? This is so frustrating and unacceptable,” she told the Herald.

She went as far as to offer her time, to help behind the desk, just to assist in making bookings for the people who wanted to book their learner licences.

Her offer was however declined.

“They’ve told me that I am not allowed as I don’t have a password to work on the system,” she told the Herald.

Most of the queuing people wanted to book for learner licences.
