Norman Nhlungwana, was sentenced to six months imprisonment without the option of a fine after he was found guilty of contravening a protection order.
The court heard that on December 6 2017, at about 19:00, the above-mentioned convict contravened the protection order that was issued against him, by threatening, Gracious Mhloti Shipalana (31) at her residence.
The complainant is said to be the convict’s ex-boyfriend.
The incident took place at Shikwambana village near Mhlava Headkraal in Tzaneen Cluster.
“The sentencing of the accused should send a clear message to all perpetrators of domestic violence that the law will be applied mercilessly against any guilty persons. All crime incidents, especially domestic related ones, are treated with high intensity and people are urged to seek professional assistance rather than resorting to violence,” the police explain.
