GIYANI: 25 learners rushed to hospital following bus crash

The learners were travelling from a science excursion in Giyani Science Centre back to their school when the accident happened.

Twenty-five learners from Tanani Primary School in Homu 14A village were rushed to hospital yesterday after the bus that was transporting them overturned.

The Grade 6 learners have since been checked over and released from hospital and have returned to school today.

A further thirty-eight learners were treated on the scene.

A statement was issued by the Department of Education on the accident, “The Department is relieved that there were no fatalities and learners did not sustain serious injuries in this accident. Counselling for learners has been arranged for today and tomorrow following this traumatic experience.”
