Teacher arrested for ‘raping’ girl (17) outside Tzaneen

The girl met the suspect who is an educator at one of the High Schools and he offered her a lift home.

The incident occurred at a village in the Mokwakwaila policing precinct outside Tzaneen on September 2.

‘A 17-year-old girl was raped by a 33-year-old educator,’ Colonel Moasthe Ngeope said.

‘The suspect continued driving, passing the victim’s house and proceeded to a local sports ground. The suspect started assaulting the victim and raped her. The matter was reported to the police who immediately started with investigations until the suspect was apprehended,’ said Ngeope.

He will appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate Court on Tuesday September 11 on a charge of rape.
