Letsitele: Alleged crime syndicate arrested

Three suspects arrested after house robbery on farm in Letsitele.

A joint operation composing of various Police Units, Private Security and other role players responded swiftly to a house robbery incident which occured on a farm in the Letsitele Policing area outside Tzaneen where three (03) suspects aged between 24 and 35 were arrested in the Namakgale Policing area on the outskirts of Phalaborwa.

“It is alleged that on Sunday, December 30 at about 06:00, the victim was in his room at the place of employment on the farm when two (02) unknown suspects attacked him, tied him with ropes and assaulted him. They then robbed him of his belongings which include mattress, a shortgun, 2 TV’s, groceries, liquor and loaded them into a Toyota Hilux belonging to the farm owner before fleeing from the scene,” Col Moatshe Ngeope said.

The Police were notified and a manhunt ensued.

The car was spotted at Namakgale.

“The Police tried to stop it but it sped off until it lost control, knocked a boundary wall in one of the streets and the suspects were all apprehended,” Ngeope said.

One of the arrested suspects was found to be one who recently escaped in Polokwane while being transported by the Haenertsburg Police to court together with four suspects who were initially arrested.

The suspect is also connected to a murder case which he allegedly committed in the Ritavi Policing area outside Tzaneen.

During the arrest, all the stolen items were recovered.

The arrested suspects will appear before the Namakgale and Nkowankowa Magistrate Courts respectively, soon.
