BREAKING: Lion allegedly on the loose in the Phalaborwa-area

A lion is allegedly on the loose roaming the Phalaborwa area!

The Lulekani police outside Phalaborwa are alerting community members about a lion which was allegedly seen along the Giyani-Selwane road.

“The police received a call from a motorist who was traveling along the mentioned road alleging that he noticed a lion busy devouring a cow next to the road,” spokesperson Sergeant Reoh Mabunda said.

It is further alleged by the motorist that when he came closer with his car to investigate the sighting, the lion ran away into the bushes into the direction of Selwane, Mabunda said.

The Department of Environment and Nature Conservation initiated a hunt for the lion, Mabunda stated.
