Tzaneen to Joburg on foot

As if cycling from Tzaneen to Tanzania and then climb Kilimanjaro a few days later were not enough, a local adventurer has embarked on a new journey.

This time Nyiko Masango is walking from Tzaneen to Johannesburg with the hope of promoting better relationships between fathers and their children.

The initiative is part of ‘Presence in Fatherhood’ which is a campaign which advocates for fathers’ rights to have access in their children’s lives.

“Most of the problems we are facing in life are caused by men, we need men who will stand and promote what is right in the society.

“We are also challenging men who have access to their children, but are absent fathers, to step-up and be present fathers,” he explained.

Recently, his good friend, Innocent Sirovha, hosted a farewell party for Masangu at Mashutti Country Lodge, where close friends and family were invited.

The multi-talented Masango said hearing people spoke well of him, motivated him to continue doing more good in people’s lives and the world.

He will be embarking on another trip where he will be cycling over 11 000 km from Cairo, Egypt to Cape Town soon.
