Tzaneen Chamber awards excellence

Tzaneen Chamber of Commerce held its annual Prestige Awards at Hotel@Tzaneen recently.

The biggest winner of the day was Milaan Thalwitzer from Komati Group who was honoured with the Business Person of the Year, award.

Madeleine Saunders from Momentum was speechless after receiving the Receptionist of the Year award.

“I’m overwhelmed and excited at the same time.

“My colleagues did not tell me that I was nominated, they told me that we were here to support my boss,” she said.

A colleague of Saunders said that she is the heart of their company and she is a darling to work with.

Some of the winners were Greater Tzaneen Municipal Manager, Thapelo Matlala who was named Public Official of the Year; Naomi Excell from Agri-Letaba, Manager of the Year; Henco Pretorius from Bricks@Tzaneen was named the Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year; and Martin Froise from Vixtrix Signs won the Business with the most outstanding and friendliest customer service.

Petra Anderson from El Olom Community Services; Deon van Tonder from EVAC 911 and Lukas Groenewald, former Letaba Herald manager, all received the certificates for Outstanding Service to the Community.

Maripe Mangena, Greater Tzaneen Municipality mayor;Thapelo Matlala, Greater Tzaneen Municipality municipal manager and Sonia Ngobeni, manager in the Office of the Mayor.

A certification of appreciation was also given to Pest Control Tzaneen for sponsoring all guests speaker hampers during the year.

The prestigious event was also attended by the Greater Tzaneen Municipality mayor, Maripe Mangena and other local business people.

Llandie van der Walt was the master of the ceremony and Jaco de Wet welcomed all the guests.

Cherise Hatting from Hotel@Tzaneen also welcomed all the guests and announced that this year they are celebrating 10 years of business in Tzaneen.

The brand is growing with branches in Hatfield and Secunda.
