Mukansi was stabbed on Sunday night at Khujwana village, he leaves behind his two children aged two and three.
Limpopo MEC for social development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, visited the Mukansi family on Wednesday to give a message of condolences.
She was accompanied by the mayor of Greater Tzaneen Municipality Maripe Mangena and some local councillors.
Rakgoale said social workers will remain with the family during this trying time and also ensure that government assist with the burial as he is from a needy family.
She said the incident is an indication that there is still more that needs to be done to clamp down incidents of gender-based violence.
Meanwhile, the said girlfriend Bonane Moshwana (21) appeared before the Ritavi Magistrate Court on Wednesday facing a murder charge.
She was remanded in custody until Monday, 9 November for formal bail application and further police investigations.
Police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe said in a statement that the deceased had allegedly left his home at Mokgoloboto village to visit the suspect when an argument ensued between the couple.
“The deceased allegedly started to assault the suspect and subsequently, the suspect took a sharp object and stabbed him.
The deceased was declared dead at the scene of crime,” he said. Police investigations are still continuing.
