Single mother pleads to community for help

A 40-year-old woman from Mokgolobotho village is pleading to the community to assist her with buying school uniforms for her three daughters.

The mother is currently unable to financially provide for her children because ill-health eats away the little money she earns as she is frequently hospitalised.

She suffers from bipolar disorder, diabetes, hypertension and is also HIV positive.

She divorced the father of her children a few years ago after he neglected her and the children.

According to her, he does not support her and the kids financially, even though he has stable employment in Johannesburg.

She has completed her Grade 12 and has a computing skills certificate.

She also has a call centre qualification, first aid qualification and has completed her human resources qualification up to N5 level.

“My health makes it difficult for me to work as I suffer from memory loss and forget even the simplest things.

“I also have low energy levels and I have to rest after a period of time working,” she explained.

She told the Herald that her two youngest children take turns to wear their school shoes.

She also asked the community to assist her with groceries or food.

Her firstborn is attending Grade 12 and her younger ones are in Grade 3 and Grade 2 respectively.
