Councillor Christine has been cleaning streets for 15 years

Maruleng Local Municipality councillor, Christine du Preez, took it upon herself to make sure that the streets of Hoedspruit were cleaned on Friday during a clean-up campaign.

“I have been doing this for the past 15 years and every month I ask local residents and business owners to help clean the streets by making sure that the areas around their businesses are always clean. “I also ask farmers to help with the R527 road since it is not a municipal road, and they gladly do it,” said Christine.


She also thanked Patrick Green, JCS, the Hoed, Greer Leo-Smith, Sunset View Office Park, Business Centre Sunset View, II Security, Janine Scorer, FreeGo, Black Bags PME (Wouter), Maruleng Municipality (Tabo, Mogadi, Pricilla, and Helen), Brush Cutters, Working on Fire staff.

Bianca van Vuuren for cash for the labourers, Heather Leigh Wagner and her friends, Portia Mashego Moropane and her friends, Sibongile Moyo, Ben Bango, Steve and Julie Benbow, Harriet Nimmo, Lenet van der Merwe, Michem Cleaning (supplier of black bags) and Dalene Worrall for providing them with two slashers.

“I would also like to thank all community members, they all play a huge part in keeping Hoedspruit clean,” she said.
