
The body was reportedly found by women who were busy collecting firewood. The police were called and on arrival at the scene, the deceased man was found in a pool of blood with multiple wounds.
A sharp object believed to be the one used in the killing was found in the vicinity. A small makeshift structure that was burnt was also found in the area. A preliminary police investigation revealed that the victim was attacked by community members who accused him of being responsible for criminal activities in their area.

He was apparently staying in the makeshift shack and he might be from Zimbabwe. An emergency response team was called and the man was certified dead at the scene. The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe has strongly warned community members to desist from engaging in incidents of vigilantism following the murder.
The victim was wearing blue shorts written on with a black marker, a white T-shirt, and black shoes. Police have opened a case of murder and the investigation is ongoing.
